Reducing Costs
 

We find that our clients desire to decrease their operational costs for site updates. We have seen sticker shock when client's receives invoices for monthly site maintenance and updating.

When we experienced this, we developed a different approach to site maintenance. We began developing innovative, integrated methods that enable our clients to less inexpensively update their sites. The company's approach is to recommend to:

  1. automate where possible
  2. have secretaries/admin staff easy trained and able to maintain site updates
  3. integrate as much as possible with existing computer applications and legacy systems

These methods include:

  • intranet and extranet solutions
  • Internet enabling existing databases
  • creating word processing templates enabling site updates through a secretary's daily WP tasks
  • the ability to update a site through email

All of our clients have implemented some form in-house site updating and they greatly appreciate the time spent training them in our simple step by step process.

We also maintain an intranet for our customers. This intranet is a knowledge database of Media Access Group's Web site development policies and procedures, such as:

  1. file formats accepted
  2. ftp and email procedures (recommended software and installation procedures included)
  3. html and graphics standards
  4. site maintenance training and procedures

This knowledge is available 24 hours a day and has been a tremendous tool, well received and appreciated by our clients. When our client's staff changes, the intranet is quite effective in the smooth, organized transition.
