Magic, a fundraiser for the Contemporary Art Center of Virginia, will be a live concert on March 19, 1998 at the Virginia Beach Pavillon simultaneously broadcast worldwide over the Internet.
The Internet
concert will include music and art written and designed
specifically for the event. Magic will bring together Hampton
Road's technology, art and educational communities.
Students (K-12, colleges & technical professional schools)
amateur/professional artists will contribute art. Artists will be
involved in set design, Internet site construction, &
creation of paintings, sculpture, computer art & dance
pieces. Local technology companies will be asked to support this
special project- the integration of art, music and Internet
technologies.
Music will be performed by the area's top bands. Magic is written
by Michael Goldberg who has performed with numerous national
musical recording acts, performance artists at Peabody
Conservatory of Music and written and performed with members of
the Baltimore Symphony. Music production, arranging &
recording will be by Stacey Heydon. Heydon has played guitar with
David Bowie & produced Sheriff's number one single "When
I'm with You".
